Now I actually think BOTH sides are getting petty and I’m trying to walk the line, but I still think that 90% of people will never even notice that the ipad doesn’t support flash, whereas every flash developer will regret that it doesn’t.

Between twitter, IM and *gasp* real life conversations, I’ve spent an undue amount of time musing over the iPad today. Between these I think I’ve come to some conclusions. (check back to morrow when I swiftly edit this post as I change my mind).
I’m going to buy it, but not yet.

The likes of Gizmodo and TechCrunch obsess over hardware specs as if those somehow capture how a device will actually work and feel. Here’s my advice: ignore the technical limitations of the device. Pay no attention to the storage space, connectivity, ports, etc. Those can change; the UI can’t.
