Location awareness as ambient light sensor
Marco Arment is a modern day genius. When he wanted his iPhone/iPad app (Instapaper) to dim at night, he discovered that there is no api access to the ambient light sensor. So instead, he uses the location services to work out wether the sun is down in your area. How God damned elegant. HT @anthony_allen
